How to Find Your Serial Number
Your Coleman serial number can typically be found on:
- A metal nameplate on the outdoor unit
- Inside the blower compartment door of the furnace
- On your original installation paperwork
Coleman Serial Number Formats
Style 1: 10-Character Format (2004-Present)
Example: W0K5896070 - 2nd & 4th digits = Year (05 = 2005), 3rd letter = Month (K = September)
Style 2: 10-Character Letter Format (1971-Oct 2004)
Example: WAKM011379 - 2nd letter = Month (A = January), 3rd letter = Year (K = 1980 or 2001)
Style 3: 9-Digit Numeric Format (1992+)
Example: 990697368 - 1st-2nd digits = Year (99 = 1999), 3rd-4th digits = Month (06 = June)
Style 4: 10-Digit Numeric Format (Prior to 1992)
Example: 0188123456 - 1st-2nd digits = Month (01 = January), 3rd-4th digits = Year (88 = 1988)
