    About Nordyne Serial Numbers

Nordyne manufactures HVAC equipment under several brand names including Frigidaire, Maytag, Gibson, Westinghouse, Tappan, and their own Nordyne brand. All use similar serial number formats.

The two main serial number formats are:

    • Style 1: Format like GBB030708229 (or GBB-0307-08229 with hyphens)
      • Positions 4-5: Year (e.g., "03" = 2003)
      • Positions 6-7: Month as 2-digit number (e.g., "07" = July)
    • Style 2: Format like MN3D102 F3891 4228 (Rheem-manufactured)
      • Middle section positions 9-10: Week number (e.g., "38" = Week 38)
      • Middle section positions 11-12: Year (e.g., "91" = 1991)
      • Note: This style is similar to Rheem serial numbers and indicates the unit was manufactured by Rheem for Nordyne

The serial number is typically found on a metal nameplate attached to your unit, usually on the side or back panel.
